LIVEPROCESS COMPLETES FINANCING WITH KEY HEALTHCARE AND TECHNOLOGY LEADERS
First-to-market position, national solution attract top investors
Verona, NJ – April 16, 2008 – LiveProcess, the leading healthcare solution for emergency preparedness and response, announced today that it recently closed a significant growth capital financing round to drive the continued national implementation of its first-to-market emergency management solution.
The capital raise follows the American Hospital Association’s exclusive endorsement of LiveProcess as the choice for disaster readiness and incident management for its more than 5,000 member hospitals. The AHA endorsement was made after an exhaustive year-long selection process, and further builds upon LiveProcess’ presence as the leading web-based platform for helping hospitals manage their disaster preparedness plans and responses.
LiveProcess plans to leverage this new financing to build out its national presence and drive continued enhancements of its industry-leading platform. The financing was led by Scientific Health Development, Ltd., (SHD), Dallas, TX, and included an international group of top healthcare and technology investors.
“LiveProcess has shown itself to be a highly successful, best-in-breed solution for healthcare providers needing vastly better ways to prepare for and respond to disasters and other large-scale emergencies,” said Carter Meyer, CEO of Scientific Health Development. “These additional financial resources will enable LiveProcess to build upon its’ clear and dominant position as the industry leader. Now more than ever, following the recently updated compliance requirements by both the Joint Commission and the National Incident Management System (NIMS), hospitals will increasingly benefit through LiveProcess’ web-based solution.”
LiveProcess was formed in the wake of 9/11 and the worldwide SARS outbreak and today has hundreds of hospital customers throughout the country.
“We are very pleased to have the support of this sophisticated investor group as we continue to build our business,” said Nathaniel Weiss, founder and CEO of LiveProcess. “LiveProcess’ tremendous growth over the past year demonstrates the country’s increased awareness of the need for emergency preparedness plans. Given the rapidly rising importance of healthcare emergency management, we are very confident that this financing and the strength of these investors will enable us to continue our great momentum, and ultimately increase the value of our offerings to our customers.”
