LiveProcess' ease-of-use, easy to reference customer base, expertise in emergency management, exclusive focus on healthcare, and commitment to the hospital's needs and customer satisfaction were key factors in its selection.

Time Saving Tips From the Field

Changes in the Joint Commission Emergency Management Standards have left many facilities confused on where to document and track the Objectives, Scope, Performance and Effectiveness of their emergency management program within the new 2008 Emergency Operations Plan (EOP).

To help simplify, a potential solution is to create a very brief, Emergency Management Plan (EMP) that contains only these four elements.  Now, this may be a little confusing since under the 2008 the EMP was replaced by the EOP.

However, to make things easier, think of this new EMP concept as a complement document to the 2008 EOP.  With this addition, hospitals can simplify the tracking and modification of their program Objectives, Scope, Performance and Effectiveness more easily, without having to make changes within the EOP.

Real Event :
Sugar Refinery Explosion

There was an explosion at the Imperial Sugar Company refinery in Port Wentworth, Georgia, on the evening of Thursday, February 7, 2008. Many area hospitals responded to the event, including Memorial Health University Medical Center, where Courtney Cox, Secretary for Safety and Security, quickly activated and notified the hospital’s ICS structure via the LiveProcess platform. Other hospitals in the region also logged on to the LiveProcess platform to monitor the Event Log as it was updated in real-time to reflect patient movement, facility status, bed counts and other vital information.
