Dr. Krevans is chancellor emeritus of the University of California at San Francisco (UCSF) and a board member of the CDC Foundation. Prior to his appointment as chancellor, he served as professor of medicine and dean of the School of Medicine at UCSF for eleven years. In 1993, he was named chancellor emeritus, and in 2002, he retired from academia. A distinguished physician and educator, Dr. Krevans played an important role nationally in developing public policy in medical education and in health sciences, as well as in the advancement of biomedical research.
Charles R. Evans recently served as president - Eastern Group of Nashville, Tenn.-based HCA, the nation's leading provider of healthcare services. In this role, he was responsible for HCA's hospital operations east of the Mississippi, which includes approximately 98 hospitals and contributes over $8B in revenue. Evans is a Fellow and a Governor in the American College of Healthcare Executives and is involved in numerous professional organizations including the Georgia Association of Healthcare Executives, ACHE Piedmont Plateau Regent's Advisory Council, and American Hospital Association. Prior to joining HCA, Evans served in executive positions at Memorial Medical Center of Jacksonville, FL, and Community Hospitals, Indianapolis, IN. He joined HCA in 1995 and has managed other company divisions including NC, MidAmerica, and Southeast.
John F. Hindelong started his career on Wall Street as a sell-side analyst in 1973. From 1979 through 2003, Mr. Hindelong was ranked among the leading healthcare analysts on Wall Street every year by Institutional Investor magazine. For thirteen of those years he was ranked first, the most number one rankings of any healthcare analyst since the magazine began its polling more than 30 years ago. Mr. Hindelong retired from CSFB early in 2004 and affiliated with DFW as Senior Advisor in July 2004.
Mr. Hindelong joined CSFB as a managing director in connection with its merger with DLJ in 2000. Prior to joining DLJ, he was the senior health services analyst at Smith Barney. Earlier, he served as Research Director at Dillon, Read & Co. Inc. and Becker Paribas, where he was also responsible for research of the health services industry. Mr. Hindelong earned his B.S. in Accounting from St. Peters College and his M.B.A. from Fairleigh Dickinson. Mr. Hindelong is a CPA and a past President of the Medical Analysts of New York. Mr. Hindelong is closely affiliated with many programs associated with the health services industry and is an active spokesman for the industry.
