LiveProcess Featured at California Disaster Planning for Hospitals Conference

Sept. 14-16 event highlights current trends in emergency preparedness

Verona, NJ (September 10, 2009) – LiveProcess, the market leader in web-based emergency preparedness and incident management solutions for healthcare, today announced it will exhibit at the Disaster Planning for California Hospitals Conference September 14-16 in Sacramento.

LiveProcess, which helps hospitals manage large-scale disasters and emergencies with an Internet-based communications platform, was established in the wake of the September 11 attacks and the worldwide SARS outbreak in response to widespread recognition that healthcare needed a better way to plan for and respond to disasters.

The LiveProcess platform is used in over 400 facilities across the country and is exclusively endorsed by the American Hospital Association (AHA) as the choice for disaster readiness and incident command solutions for its member hospitals.

Mitch Saruwatari, vice president of quality and compliance for LiveProcess, will participate as one of several nationally recognized instructors during a special post-conference workshop, "Using the HICS Tools for Incident Action Planning."

The course uses an interactive approach based on hazards most often faced by California hospitals to teach participants how to determine and write objectives that direct hospital-based response actions. Participants will also develop action plans using hospital-specific ICS (Incident Command System) forms with an emphasis on guiding response activities and after action reviews.

The conference is sponsored by the California Hospital Association and co-sponsored by the California Department of Public Health, California Emergency Management Agency and Emergency Medical Services Authority, and is the only statewide conference planned by and for California hospitals.

Conference education programs will cover such diverse topics as preparing for the H1N1 pandemic, unified command, recovery assistance, after-action reporting, trauma surge, the physician's role in a disaster, radiological incidents, Joint Commission requirements, drive-thru triage, HICS for rural hospitals, and a disaster boot camp.

Over 700 emergency management professionals are registered to attend the Disaster Planning for California Hospitals Conference, including hospital administrators, emergency program managers, emergency preparedness committee members, hospital emergency operations center staff, medical directors and physicians, nurse executives and managers, public health officers and emergency planners, safety and security managers, risk managers, and medical and health operational area coordinators.

The conference also provides attendees with the opportunity to meet face-to-face with exhibitors showcasing the latest equipment, technologies and services in the healthcare emergency preparedness industry.

LiveProcess is exhibiting at Booth #46 on Monday, September 14 and Tuesday September 15.
