Fort Benning facility joins hospitals in Alabama as company's most recent implementations
VERONA, NJ (March 30, 2009) — LiveProcess, the market leader in web-based emergency preparedness and incident management solutions for healthcare, today announced it has completed a military healthcare installation at Martin Army Community Hospital, the center for medical services at Fort Benning, Georgia.
The 250-bed facility is one of the largest and most comprehensive community hospitals in the Army and is recognized as one of the best in the nation for quality of care as certified by The Joint Commission, and for service to the community by the Army and TRADOC Communities of Excellence Evaluations.
Concurrently, LiveProcess also completed program implementation at East Alabama Medical Center, Opelika, Alabama, and Jack Hughston Memorial Hospital, Phenix City, Alabama. The implementation was coordinated by Medical Center of Columbus, Georgia, an existing LiveProcess client, under the auspices of the Metropolitan Medical Response System (MMRS) Program. MMRS supports local preparedness efforts to respond to all-hazards mass casualty incidents, including epidemic disease outbreaks, natural disasters, large-scale hazardous materials incidents, and chemical, biological, radiological, nuclear or explosive attacks.
East Alabama Medical Center is a 352-bed regional referral center with an active medical staff of more than 145 physicians. The Medical Center serves a five-county area and offers programs and services in nearly every medical specialty, including a full range of inpatient and outpatient procedures. With over 2500 employees, East Alabama Medical Center is the areas second largest employer. Jack Hughston Memorial Hospital is a 70-bed facility and one of Phenix City's largest employers. Jack Hughston Memorial Hospital is a full-service facility with an Emergency Services Department that supports more than 30,000 visits per year.
"The recent implementations included use in multiple state exercises. Being able to coordinate and collaborate in a multi-state exercise was a huge accomplishment for us and it demonstrates our ability to do so on a national scale," said Fred Sievers, LiveProcess senior systems engineer, "and we're excited about extending our reach into military healthcare."
Last fall, the company also entered three new states, adding hospital customers in California, Texas and New York to its growing national network.
About LiveProcess
LiveProcess was established in the wake of the September 11th attacks and the worldwide SARS outbreak in response to widespread recognition that healthcare needed a better way to plan and respond to disasters. In 2004, LiveProcess launched its centralized, web-based disaster preparation and incident management platform, the first of its kind for healthcare, to help healthcare organizations prepare for and respond to both large- and small-scale emergencies and disasters. Today, it is the leader in emergency management for hospitals.
The LiveProcess platform is used by hundreds of hospitals across the country. In addition, the American Hospital Association (AHA) has exclusively endorsed LiveProcess as the choice for disaster readiness and incident command solutions for its more than 5,000 member hospitals.
The LiveProcess platform provides hospitals, other healthcare providers and public health agencies with the ability to evaluate and manage their own preparedness and state of readiness, as well as coordinate response with other entities for small incidents through large-scale healthcare emergencies. Its broad and growing range of fully-integrated tools include Hazard Vulnerability Analysis (HVA), an integrated Incident Command System (ICS), NIMS Compliance activities, Drills for Readiness and Compliance, a real-time Event Log, and Competency-Based Training capabilities.
