LiveProcess Launches Version 4.5 of Web-Based Platform for Healthcare Emergency Preparedness and Incident Management

Compliance Crosswalk, Reference Library and Inventory Management Lead Robust List of Enhancements

VERONA, NJ (October 01, 2008) – LiveProcess, the market leader in emergency preparedness and incident management solutions for healthcare, today announced the release of Version 4.5 of their web-based platform.

Designed to enhance the platform with a broad range of powerfully innovative new features and functionality, Version 4.5 includes a standardized emergency management Preparedness Index, an enhanced Reference Library, a Compliance Crosswalk to the new 2009 Joint Commission Emergency Management Standards, a new Inventory Management module, an automated Contact Management tool using CSV load utilities, and a comprehensive Notification Tracking Report.

These robust enhancements will help emergency coordinators meet their growing emergency preparedness, incident management and disaster recovery needs.

"Imagine having the ability to manage an event from anywhere, at any time, and sharing plans with hundreds of hospitals across a network," said Nathaniel Weiss, founder and Chief Executive Officer. "The LiveProcess platform is a truly easy-to-use, web-based solution for automating daily program management, compliance, exercises and drills, and incident management."

The fall release delivers the new LiveProcess Index (LPI), which reviews and compares compliance with the Joint Commission Emergency Management Standards and the National Incident Management System (NIMS) objectives for healthcare organizations with the LiveProcess Emergency Management Best Practices assessment using an easy-to-read scorecard and dashboard.

The 4.5 release also includes an enhanced Reference Library that sorts documents by category and allows users to rate documents and enter comments. "This feature will help our users find the most relevant, best practices information in our platform and also provides the opportunity to share their best documents with the rest of the network," said Mike Neyer, director of product management.

The redesigned Compliance Section contains a comprehensive crosswalk that will streamline the conversion process from 2008 to 2009 Joint Commission Emergency Management Standards. The crosswalk includes transferring notes, documents and other relevant material through an automated process, saving hours of time over using manual processes.

Says LiveProcess VP of Quality and Compliance Mitch Saruwatari, "Our new release is intended to assist hospitals efficiently move their programs from the rigorous 2008 Standards to the entirely new emergency management chapter. The LiveProcess platform will help streamline this transition as well as allow hospitals to benchmark their scores against a national average of all LiveProcess users," added Saruwatari.

LiveProcess is aggressively expanding nationwide and has recently added customers in California, New York, Texas and Florida, installing their platform in large regional healthcare systems, integrated networks and stand-alone hospitals.

About LiveProcess
LiveProcess was established in the wake of the September 11th attacks and the worldwide SARS outbreak in response to widespread recognition that healthcare needed a better way to plan and respond to disasters. In 2004, LiveProcess launched its centralized, web-based disaster preparation and incident management platform—the first of its kind for healthcare—to help healthcare organizations prepare for and respond to both large- and small-scale emergencies and disasters. Today, it is the leader in emergency management for hospitals.

The LiveProcess platform is used by hundreds of hospitals across the country. In addition, the American Hospital Association (AHA) has exclusively endorsed LiveProcess as the choice for disaster readiness and incident command solutions for its more than 5,000 member hospitals.

The LiveProcess platform provides hospitals, other healthcare providers and public health agencies with the ability to evaluate and manage their own preparedness and state of readiness, as well as coordinate response with other entities, from small incidents through large-scale healthcare emergencies. Its broad and growing range of fully-integrated tools include Hazard Vulnerability Analyses (HVAs), an integrated Incident Command System (ICS), NIMS Compliance activities, Drills for Readiness and Compliance, a real-time Event Log, and Competency-Based Training capabilities.
