Spring 2007 release delivers impressive new functionality to even more users
VERONA, NJ (April 16, 2007) – LiveProcess, the leader in healthcare emergency preparedness and response, today announced its Spring 2007 product release. Based on feedback from users at more than 150 hospitals, LiveProcess developed the latest version of its software to include enhanced notification capability, an enhanced drill engine for creating and implementing disaster exercises and several new operational modifications designed to improve overall system ease of use. The latest release will begin rolling out to all users this week and will be fully functional for participating facilities in Georgia, Ohio and Florida by mid-May.
LiveProcess has been collaborating with the Georgia Hospital Association since 2006 to improve hospital emergency preparedness by making the software available to all hospitals within the state. LiveProcess is now expanding to the state of Florida by providing its software to more than 20 hospitals, including some from the following organizations:
- Halifax Hospital Medical Center
- HCA Health Services of Florida, Inc
- Health First
- Orlando Regional Healthcare Systems, Inc.
- Shands Teaching Hospital and Clinics, Inc.
- Wuestoff Health Systems, Inc.
Additionally, Live Process also announces today that it has begun working with the Ohio Hospital Association. Select hospitals throughout the state will begin using the system later this month.
As part of the new release, the LiveProcess platform will now automatically notify key hospital personnel, in the event of an emergency, through a multimodal notification system which includes phone, text and email. This enhanced notification capability is a critical step in ensuring that appropriate hospital incident management team members are notified quickly, facilitating a more rapid and measured response.
The Spring 2007 release includes an enhanced drill engine that will allow system users to more easily create disaster exercises that target key facility and community hazards. It will also help build and rehearse real-event processes such as alert notification, objective building, event monitoring, and resource tasking. Additionally, it will help identify areas needing further review and practice. The goal is to simplify the exercise process while simulating real life events to increase exercise frequency and improve response confidence and capability. This reinforcement of training also helps reduce labor costs, a key benefit to hospitals.
The Spring 2007 Release also includes the following features designed to make other emergency preparedness and disaster management tasks easier:
- Simplified tab structure speeds navigation and provides more effective use
- Easy-to-use interface allows authorized users to set security permissions to share documents, plans and messages with other hospitals
- An additional layer of security that allows administrators to customize each users access to the system
- Scalable architecture to allow for an unlimited number of users
- Faster and more scalable architecture designed for easy implementation of future updates
"LiveProcess constantly evaluates our customers' needs to ensure our platform gives hospital staff the ability to easily evaluate and manage their emergency preparedness procedures," said Mitch Saruwatari, Vice President of Quality and Compliance for LiveProcess. "During an emergency, the ability to quickly activate a coordinated response is crucial. Through the launch of this new release, LiveProcess further empowers hospital and healthcare professionals with the necessary tools to effectively plan and respond to any hazard. This is accomplished through increased and improved exercising, being able to immediately notify groups of key personnel and effectively coordinating resources and activities among community members."
